U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody is expected to win her Republican primary on Tuesday, but the November general election could be a bigger challenge. Moody reflected on her appointment to the Senate and her work so far. "Governor DeSantis said go to Washington and take that same spirit, same fight and make sure we are doing what's best for Florida, Florida's families, and certainly I'm proud to report back to all my bosses here in Florida that we are already delivering wins for the state," Moody said. When asked about concerns over artificial intelligence in political campaigns, Moody said, "I think everyone should be concerned of using technology to trick people." She also emphasized her commitment to protecting and educating the public. "I have a very strong track record protecting folks and making sure they're educated, and I'll keep doing that as a U.S. senator," Moody said. On the topic of the war in Iran, Moody shared her perspective, noting the personal impact of the conflict on her family. "Well, you know, be clear. I don't think anyone ever wants conflict, especially not armed conflict. The oldest boy in our family is in the military. Every position, action, everything we do as a nation, certainly we feel that. It's personal to us," she said. Moody also discussed decision-making in conflict situations. "I think what President Trump understands is that in any of these situations, the first decision point needs to be, how do we act with the safety and security of Americans in our country," she said. Addressing Florida's high insurance rates, Moody acknowledged progress and pledged to continue working on the issue. "You're already seeing some progress, some relief there," she said. "I, as a U.S. senator, certainly will work hand in hand with the next governor of the great state of Florida to make sure we're paying attention to the pressures Floridians are feeling." When asked about debating her Democratic challenger after the primary, Moody said, "Our campaigns get together and start talking through it, what it looks like, where it is, I expect those discussions will take place after the primary." She added, "Look, I've been debating this whole time. Give me an issue." All of the issues Moody discussed are expected to be topics in the general election.
