The Florida Gaming Control Commission, with assistance from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, raided the Majestic Lounge and Winners Arcade in Collier County on Tuesday, removing illegal gambling machines. Keith Daubmann, owner of My Architectural Glass, said he witnessed the raid at the plaza on U.S. 41 and Wiggins Pass Road. “So we were ecstatic to see this happen. We saw the cops pull up. We're waiting for the meat wagon to show up and see some people get cuffed and stuffed,” Daubmann said. He added that this was not the first raid he had seen at the plaza. “So I've seen the strip mall kind of evolve over the years. At about 9:00 this morning, a coworker said, they're here, and I kind of knew in my gut what it was. I looked up and there was look like a small army, 15, 20 guys all masked up black jackets, guns, crowbars, and I knew where they were going because we saw the same thing about two years ago with the massage parlor,” Daubmann said. On Tuesday, agents were seen removing illegal gambling machines from the Majestic Lounge and loading them into a semi-truck. Similar activity was observed at Winners Arcade, located one block away on U.S. 41. Tom Garuti, a frequent visitor to the Majestic Lounge, shared his thoughts on the raid. “You know I love coming here because I don't drink. I don't smoke, I don't do drugs. This is where I come to have my fun, and now I got to go to Immokalee,” Garuti said. The Florida Gaming Control Commission has not yet provided information about the number of machines or the amount of cash removed during the raids.
