A Cape Coral family is recovering after a woman accused of driving high on methamphetamine, with a suspended license, crashed into their parked cars and nearly struck their home on Southeast 23rd Place. Micah Dzialo, the homeowner, said the crash has left him unable to take his child to school. "Why were you behind the wheel? Like, why were you driving if you knew you weren't supposed to be driving? Why were you driving?" Dzialo said. Dzialo described the crash, saying, "She flew right into my yard, flew right into my yard, hit my work truck, my work truck about 12 feet into my actual personal vehicle. Oh, yeah she messed up everything." Police said Danielle Zinderman lost control of her vehicle while driving along Viscaya Parkway. Dzialo and his family were in the living room when the crash occurred. "I'm so glad she only stopped right there; if she didn't, we would have all been dead," he said. Neighbors also reacted to the crash, with Alex Paz, a Cape Coral resident, saying, "I thought maybe it was something more like a homicide or something, just a lot of police were on this road." Cape Coral police arrived at the scene and found Zinderman showing signs of impairment. According to the police report, she failed a field sobriety test, and officers discovered a burnt pipe with residue and a small bag in the back of her truck, which tested positive for meth. Zinderman was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including DUI property damage and possession of drug paraphernalia. This marks Zinderman's 26th arrest in Lee County. Despite her arrest, Dzialo said the incident has changed how his family uses their home. "We hang out in the family room in the backyard because I don't even want to hang out right here because I'm scared someone else might come through my house, so I don't even want that to happen," he said.
