Cape Coral man accused of sexually abusing child, trading sweets for sex acts

A Cape Coral man was arrested on Thursday after being accused of sexually abusing a child. According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers arrested Clinton Burton, 76, following an investigation into allegations of a sex offense involving a child. The special victims unit investigated the case after the child reported multiple incidents of egregious sexual abuse, CCPD said. The investigation found that Burton would exchange sweet treats for sex acts. Burton faces a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation and is currently being held at the Lee County Jail.
