A decomposed pig head, animal bones, and flowers were found near a school bus stop in Lehigh Acres, leaving parents and residents concerned about the unusual display. "It's disgusting," said Susan Sprague, a Lehigh Acres resident. Sprague, who has lived in the area for nearly six years, said this is the first time she has encountered something like this. "We've lived here for almost six years, and nobody's ever done that before," she said. Courtney Sheppard, another Lehigh Acres resident, shared her thoughts on the discovery. "It looks like it was some kind of spiritual practice to me," Sheppard said. The pig head had decomposed down to the bone, and nearby, a board with other animal bones and flowers—once fresh, according to residents—added to the scene. The smell from the carcass was described as overwhelming, making it difficult to approach. Parents expressed concerns about the proximity of the display to the bus stop, where children gather daily. "They can't put their bikes there because of it," Sprague said. Sheppard suggested that the person responsible might not have realized the significance of the location. "I think that they probably didn't realize that they put it right there where, you know, to, I think is like I used to see teenagers getting off this bus here," she said. The Lee County Sheriff's Office stated that the incident could be considered criminal if animal cruelty or littering was involved. While reporters were present, Lee County officials removed the remains and cleaned up the area. Sprague voiced her frustration with the situation. "If you're going to do your spiritual ritual stuff, can you, like, do it on somebody else's corner? Not ours. And our neighborhood, because it's just kind of gross," she said. Now that the area has been cleared, parents are urging whoever is responsible to conduct such activities elsewhere, away from children.
