LABELLE, Fla. — Water service in LaBelle is about to be temporarily cut off, and residents need to know what to expect.
The City of LaBelle says water service will be interrupted starting at 10:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, due to a mainline repair near the water plant.
The outage is expected to last a couple of hours, but residents may notice low water pressure or no water at all during that time.
Once repairs are done, a Boil Water Notice will go into effect until further notice.
That means residents should boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or any other consumption until the notice is officially lifted.
The city is asking residents to share this notice with neighbors and anyone else who may be affected.
