A man was arrested by deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase on Thursday. LCSO says that one of its Narcotics Team Detectives conducted a traffic stop near Palm Beach Boulevard and Marsh Avenue after observing a traffic violation. During the stop, deputies say they located a suspected bag of marijuana and another baggie containing a white substance on the suspect's person. The suspect was a passenger in the vehicle. The suspect, later identified as Jorge Valle Armijo, 41, pulled away from deputies and began running away, LCSO says. Deputies say they gave chase and deployed a stun gun. Armijo was taken into custody. Armijo was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and resisting without violence. LCSO says that officers with the Fort Myers Police Department assisted with the arrest.
