FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)— Royal Palm Park in Tice will close temporarily starting Monday as crews begin restoring the fishing pier on the Caloosahatchee River that Hurricane Ian destroyed.
The park, located at 300 Royal Palm Parkway, will serve as a staging and construction area for the contractor working on the project. The restoration is being funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Relief and the Florida Department of Emergency Management Legislative Appropriations Program Funds.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to be complete by November. Updates on the project can be found by searching "Boardwalk Repairs" at the Parks Project Information Tool.
