SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking a return of tropical moisture that will bring more rain and storm chances as we head into the weekend. However, rainfall will remain limited for most areas.
Tracking a wind shift this Thursday that is leading to some showers just offshore of Southwest Florida. Isolated storms (30% coverage) will move onshore and pop up closer to the coast through midday before becoming more scattered (40% coverage) as they track East of I-75. Soaking storms continue inland through the evening. Highs top out in the lower to mid 90s with another heat advisory issued until 7 PM.
Onshore flow will lead to a few showers (20% coverage) around coastal areas throughout the morning with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Isolated storms will build along I-75 midday before tracking farther inland throughout the afternoon and evening. Most areas will be dry for high school football games Friday evening. Highs top out in the lower to mid 90s.
Morning showers chances continue Saturday with a few coastal showers (20% coverage) around for your morning plans. Similar to Friday, isolated storms (30% coverage) pop up along US-41 and I-75 midday before building inland throughout the afternoon and evening. Plan for another warm and humid day with highs in the lower to mid 90s.

WINK Weather Authority Meteorologists and the National Hurricane Center are not tracking any tropical disturbances at the moment. No tropical development is expected over the next 7 days. Signals point to some low development chances as we wrap up August and head into September, but right now this is not a concern.
