A woman has been found guilty of vehicular homicide in a 2024 Cape Coral street-racing crash that killed a 52-year-old man. According to court documents, a Lee County jury returned a guilty verdict for Anastasiya Zadorozhna, 29, after a trial. Assistant State Attorneys Mark Stark and Andreas Gardiner prosecuted the case. The crash occurred on July 19, 2024, on Pine Island Road. Evidence shown at the trial included a video from a camera on Nicholas Parkway and Pine Island Road that showed two cars traveling at a high speed, with the drivers racing each other. During the street race, Zadorozhna's car crashed into the victim's car, killing the 52-year-old man, court notes show. Zadorozhna's co-defendant, Chase Magruder, who was in the other car involved in the race, hit Zadorozhna's car when she drove into his lane during the crash. Magruder pleaded no contest to his charge of vehicular homicide and was sentenced to one year in prison on Wednesday. Zadorozhna is set to be sentenced on September 28, 2026.
