Lehigh Acres man wanted on new warrant after arrest for punching, kicking dogs

A Lehigh Acres man is wanted on a new warrant following an arrest for animal cruelty. According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Browen Sweet, 36, became enraged after one of his two Chinese Shar-Peis caused damage to drywall in the garage. Sweet grabbed the dog by the neck and dunked its head in the sink before tethering it outside during a rainstorm. Sweet then hit the other dog with a broomstick and punched it in the face several times, Crime Stoppers said. The woman who reported Sweet said that he would frequently hit and kick the dogs out of anger. Sweet spent a day in jail before being released on certain conditions, such as checking in with a probation officer, which he failed to do, Crime Stoppers said. Sweet has 18 prior arrests on charges of drug possession, grand theft, aggravated assault, battery, and shooting from a vehicle. He is 5'8", weighs 160 pounds, and was last known to be working as a landscaper in the Lehigh Acres area.
