Flipped dump truck, trailer fire slow I-75 traffic near North Port

NORTH PORT, Fla. (WINK) — A flipped dump truck and a trailer fire caused delays on Interstate 75 near mile marker 176 in Sarasota County.

North Port Police Department and North Port Fire Rescue responded to the scene Monday afternoon. The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived.

No one was injured in the incident. Both directions of I-75 experienced slow-rolling traffic as crews worked to clear the scene.

Authorities advised drivers to expect delays until traffic returned to normal. The North Port Police Department said it would provide updates as the situation developed.
