WINK Listens comes to Port Charlotte today to hear your story

At WINK News, listening is part of our mission.

But sometimes, listening means more than reading an email, answering a phone call or seeing a comment online.

That’s the idea behind WINK Listens — a chance for people across Southwest Florida to sit down face-to-face with WINK News anchors and reporters and tell us what matters to them.

Each month, WINK Listens brings our newsroom to a different community. We listen to your stories, your concerns and your ideas — and when something needs a closer look, we follow up.

That’s exactly what happened when Jack and Denise Johnson came to WINK Listens with a problem they feared was getting worse by the day.

Their driveway was sinking.

 

They didn't just want to complain about it; they wanted someone to come see it.

So, WINK News Anchor Corey Lazar did.

At the Johnsons' home, the damage was impossible to miss. 

WINK Listens turned their concern shared at a community event into a story, taking a closer look at a problem they feared could eventually threaten their home.

And that's how WINK Listens works.
