Cape Coral man accused of sex with teen after victim reported she had 'escaped her kidnapper'

More details have been released regarding the arrest of Jackson Spradlin in Cape Coral, who is accused of a sex offense involving a teen. According to the Cape Coral Police Department arrest report, officers received a 911 call on Aug. 13 from a 14-year-old victim who reported that she had just escaped her kidnapper. The victim told officers that a man had forced her into an unknown vehicle, the report said. The victim also told officers that the man had raped her. Lee County Emergency Medical Services evaluated the victim on the scene and then transported her to a hospital for further evaluation. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Jackson Lee Spradlin, 19, according to the report. On Aug. 19, officers located Spradlin at a residence on Little Palm Circle. Spradlin told officers he had met the victim on Snapchat and that they had begun to talk to one another. Spradlin said he picked the victim up in Fort Myers and went back to his apartment and had sex, the report said. Spradlin denied knowing the victim was 14. Spradlin was arrested and faces a charge of lewd or lascivious battery on a person aged 12 to 16.
