BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (WINK)— Two brush fires are burning near the intersection of Bonita Beach Road and Radio Tower Road.
As of 8 p.m., a 70-acre fire on Radio Tower Road is 80% contained. A 4-acre fire on Vincent Road is 50% contained.
Firefighters say one of the fires started around 2:30 p.m. Fire crews are asking drivers to stay away from the traffic circle in the area.
Jesse Lavender with the Florida Forest Service discussed how dry conditions have been affecting fire season.
"Definitely, the drought has caused us to have a longer fire season there are areas of the county that have received more rainfall than others so its all kind of been spotty so we really need some rain," Lavender said.
