A Fort Myers man was arrested after police said he repeatedly rammed a rental car during a road rage incident early Sunday. Fort Myers police responded around 3:45 a.m. to Economy Street and Palm Avenue, where they found a white Mercedes-Benz with significant damage. The driver’s door had been torn from the vehicle, and five people remained at the scene. According to police, cellphone video showed a silver Toyota sedan accelerating toward the Mercedes and striking it multiple times. Investigators determined the Toyota was accused of intentionally hitting the Mercedes as one of the occupants opened the driver’s door. The suspected driver was identified as Holden Seth Thibodeaux by someone who knew him, police said. Thibodeaux reportedly remained in contact with people inside the Mercedes by phone and said he would not return to the scene while police were there, according to the report. Cape Coral police later located Thibodeaux and took him into custody. He was booked into the Lee County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
