Bonita Springs firefighters mobilize to fully extinguish Vincent Rd brush fire on Wednesday

Bonita Springs firefighters are set to fully extinguish a brush fire on Vincent Road, near Bonita Beach Road, on Wednesday. The fire, which was caused by a lightning strike, sparked on Monday and spread to 70 acres. According to the Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District, the brush fire is 95% contained. The South Strike Team is on the scene of the fire as of 9:30 a.m., according to Bonita Springs Fire. This will cause the roundabout at the location to be reduced to one lane while operations continue. Verizon service in the area is currently operating on generator power, and Florida Power and Light crews are standing by to begin restoration work once fire crews are able to safely access the area. Bonita Springs Fire said that crews will continue working until the remaining areas are secured and the fire is fully extinguished.
