Cape Coral man gets 4 years in federal prison for threats to kill people across several states

A Cape Coral man has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for making interstate communications of threats to injure people, according to the State Attorney's Office. According to court records, in January, Paul Richard Lukas, 51, made several threatening phone calls to kill multiple individuals in Florida, Georgia and Alaska one month after he was released from state prison. One of the victims reported the threat to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who later requested assistance from the Cape Coral Police Department. CCPD made contact with Lukas, who had several empty rifle cases at his home. Lukas has 40 previous convictions, many of which include battery, assault and threats to others.
