CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)— A family-owned cigar shop and lounge has opened in Cape Coral, offering premium cigars, a comfortable atmosphere and beverages for guests looking to relax.
James & Sons Tobacconists opened its Cape Coral location in 2026 at the Shops at Del Sol, 1110 Solaris Drive. The shop combines a premium cigar store with a lounge where guests can browse the humidor, get recommendations and stay awhile.
The humidor features a variety of premium cigars, including well-known names such as Padron and Arturo Fuente. James & Sons also carries boutique brands and its own house blends, made with Nicaraguan tobacco and available in different strengths.
Staff members help guide guests through the selection based on flavor, strength and experience level. The lounge has been described by visitors as clean, comfortable and welcoming, making it a spot for both experienced cigar smokers and people who are curious to learn more about cigars.
The Cape Coral location also offers beer, wine and coffee, giving guests options to pair with their cigar while they relax and socialize. Memberships are available but not required. Owner Moe Kommer's father opened the first James & Sons Tobacconists when Kommer was 15 years old.
"We vacation down here and decided this would be a great place to bring a cigar bar to," Kommer said.
James & Sons Tobacconists has a longtime location in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Cape Coral shop marks the brand's expansion into Southwest Florida. Co-owner Lorraine Kommer said James & Sons has its own unique approach, with experience and fair pricing at the heart of the business.
"Moe grew up in the industry for the last 20 years, so he's very knowledgeable about cigars and our guests," Kommer said. "Our pricing is very fair as well. We sell at market price."
As a family-owned and operated business, Kommer said there is something special about sharing the cigar experience with customers.
"Cigars are timeless," Kommer said.
The business is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
