Naples Comprehensive Health said on Wednesday that it will not accept Cigna and Wellcare Medicare Advantage plans in 2027. According to NCH, patients can still receive care through other accepted Medicare plans. The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period for 2027 runs Oct. 15-Dec. 7. NCH shared the letter patients received with Gulf Coast News, which can be read in full below: "Beginning January 1, 2027, Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) will no longer accept Cigna Medicare Advantage plans and Wellcare Medicare Advantage plans. This change was made with significant consideration and evaluation. NCH is proud to be a locally governed, non‐profit, community‐focused health system and one of America’s Top 50 Hospitals. Our mission is to help everyone live happier, healthier lives by ensuring the best care for anyone who walks through our doors. Fulfilling that mission means regularly evaluating the Medicare Advantage plans we accept to ensure they support high-quality, patient-centered care. This change allows us to ensure that the plans we partner with truly support quality care, reduce unnecessary administrative barriers, and align with our commitment to delivering the best possible experience for our patients. We are reaching out to patients now because we want to help them prepare for this year’s Medicare Annual Enrollment Period that runs October 15 - December 7, 2026. Patients can continue to receive care at NCH through traditional Medicare, Medicare Supplement plans (Medigap), or any in-network Medicare Advantage plan. Patients can visit nchmd.org/MAUpdate for the latest information about the Medicare Advantage plans that will be in-network with NCH in 2027, as well as answers to frequently asked questions."
