The system southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is still being watched, but its odds of development have eased slightly with the 8:00 update from the National Hurricane Center.
Showers and storms associated with the wave remain disorganized, and while conditions are still somewhat favorable for the next couple of days, forecasters have lowered the formation chances from "high" to "medium."
It could still become a tropical depression within the next day or two as it moves westward to west-northwestward across the Atlantic. But like before, conditions are expected to turn less favorable by the weekend, which may limit or end its development chances.
