Fort Myers police search for missing teen mom and her infant daughter

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—The Fort Myers Police Department is searching for a missing 17-year-old and her infant daughter.

The department says Wilbelys Lopez Candelario was last seen with her 6-month-old daughter, Marbelys Lopez, at 3650 Michigan Avenue. Wilbelys was wearing a black blouse and gray pants.

Wilbelys is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. Detectives are working the missing persons case.

FMPD says while the circumstances do not indicate that Wilbelys or her infant daughter are necessarily in danger at this time, their ages make this a matter of heightened urgency.

The department said it wants to locate both of them as soon as possible to ensure their safety and well-being. Anyone with information regarding Wilbelys or Marbelys' whereabouts is asked to contact the Fort Myers Police Department at 239-321-7700.
