North Fort Myers High School athletics and activities director suspended

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — The North Fort Myers Athletics and Activities Director has been suspended, according to the Lee County School District.

Athletic director Joseph Bowen is under investigation, but further details have not been released yet.

The principal of North Fort Myers High School, Chris Drake, released a statement following the announcement. 

"Due to personal reasons, Mr. Bowen will no longer serve as our Athletic Director. I want to thank Mr. Bowen for his hard work, dedication, and service to our student-athletes, coaches, and school community. The position will be posted in PeopleSoft shortly," Drake said. 

"In the meantime, please continue to work with Mr. Drake, Mrs. Hutchinson and Ms. Atkinson for all athletic and activity related needs," he added in the statement.
