A woman and her dog died after they were found floating in a pool unresponsive on Wednesday night at a home on Colonial Walk North in Estero. According to a report from the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 6:47 p.m. in reference to a possible drowning. In the report, the sheriff's office said that according to Lee County Paramedics, crews arrived at the scene and found the woman floating face down on the water and in front of her was her dog, a small, brown-colored, possibly Chihuahua breed, who also was floating in the pool unresponsive. Life-saving measures were not successful. The report states that the woman who reported the incident was grilling when a man started knocking on the window in a panic, so she went to the pool and then called 911. A homicide detective responded to the incident and took over the investigation, according to the report.
