FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—A Chick-fil-A location on Alico Road in Fort Myers will serve its last meals Friday after more than 17 years in business.
The restaurant on the east side of I-75 will close its doors Aug. 28, according to a press release. The closure comes as the franchise prepares to relocate to a new building on the west side of I-75.
The new Chick-fil-A Alico Road location will open soon, though an exact date has not been announced. Customers can follow the restaurant on Facebook and Instagram for updates on the opening date.
"Thank you for allowing us to serve you and this incredible community for more than 17 years," the press release said. "We are truly grateful for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you to our new Chick-fil-A very soon!"
