Gov. Ron DeSantis unveils Lady Columbia statue in Lake City

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WINK) —  Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled a Lady Columbia statue in Lake City on Thursday.

This is part of a series of statues being brought to Florida from other states. 

DeSantis also awarded $15.5 million in infrastructure funding to 22 rural communities. The city of LaBelle received a portion of this funding.

Lady Columbia is a female personification of the United States of America. By the early 20th century, Lady Liberty replaced Lady Columbia as the female representation of the United States.
