Deputies say Longin escaped to the neighboring duplex, where, quickly thereafter, he was taken into custody. During a sweep of the neighboring duplex, deputies say they found a second victim, dead, in the home. This second victim was identified by her family as Amadette Longin. Longin faces the following charges: Homicide Attempted homicide Sexual battery Burglary with a battery During the news conference, Sheriff Marceno said that Longin is an immigrant from Haiti who was seeking asylum.
