LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (WINK) — A 28-year-old man accused of killing one woman and attacking another inside a Lehigh Acres duplex could appear before a judge on Monday morning.
WINK News was in the courtroom on Saturday when Whycliff Longin was ordered to stay behind bars and return to court. The judge said that hearing could change.
Deputies responded to the duplex on Haviland Avenue South in Lehigh on Thursday morning. Investigators said the domestic-related attack began after one of the women woke up to Longin strangling her.
Authorities said she was able to break free and barricade herself inside a bedroom before calling 911. Police found Amadette Longin dead inside the home with signs of blunt-force trauma.
Whycliff Longin remains behind bars, with an immigration detainer also in place.
