NAPLES, Fla. (WINK) — If you love getting lost in a good book, there’s a new spot to add to your Naples list.
Books on Third is an independent bookstore tucked above Third Street South in Old Naples, offering a curated selection of books along with gifts, events and plenty of space to slow down and browse.
Founded by Naples residents Shan O’Fee-Byrom and Lindsay Smith, the bookstore was created to be more than a place to pick up a new read. The two friends envisioned a welcoming community space where people could discover books, connect with other readers and spend a little time surrounded by stories.
Smith said this has been a long time dream for her, " It was my dream to open up a book store but I just was missing someone to help. My kids encouraged me to reach out to Shan. Now, we're approaching one year of owning a book store together."
Inside, shoppers can find everything from fiction and nonfiction to history, politics, mystery, philosophy, art, romance and travel. The store also emphasizes local authors and features literary-inspired gifts, making it a spot to shop for yourself or to find something for the book lover in your life.
But Books on Third is about more than what's sitting on the shelves. The store hosts author talks, book signings, book clubs, writing workshops and children's events, giving readers a reason to keep coming back even after they've finished their latest book.
The space itself is designed to encourage visitors to linger, with cozy reading areas and a thoughtfully designed interior. It's part bookstore, part gathering place and part chance to step away from the usual hustle of downtown Naples.
Located at 1300 3rd Street South, Suite 201, Books on Third is Naples' only independent bookstore, offering a literary stop right in the heart of Old Naples.
