Hendry County Sheriff's Office hosts news conference after traffic stop shooting leaves man dead

The Hendry County Sheriff's Office is holding a news conference Tuesday afternoon after a weekend traffic stop turned deadly along State Road 29 and Case Road. HCSO said Edward Young Jr., a 34-year-old man out of Lehigh Acres, was pulled over near Case Road after deputies received reports of a reckless driver on Saturday evening. According to the sheriff's office, an exchange of gunfire occurred, and Young was taken to the hospital for the injuries he suffered and later died. The sheriff's office said law enforcement officers were not injured.
