The marina in Punta Gorda has reopened following temporary repairs and will operate at reduced capacity. According to the City of Punta Gorda Public Works, temporary repairs, authorized under the temporary use agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, have been completed, and the marina has reopened. The marina will operate at a reduced capacity and within a temporary footprint, as the temporary repairs will remain in place until permanent reconstruction of the marina begins. The City of Punta Gorda is working through the permitting process with FDEP and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the permanent reconstruction. Once the necessary permits and approvals are in place, the city will move forward with the next phase of the project.
