DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — If you’ve ever wanted to get up close with a capybara, meet a lemur or come face-to-face with an alligator, Jungle Doria’s Wildlife Park is bringing those animal encounters to Arcadia.
Located at UpRiver Adventures along the Peace River, Jungle Doria’s Wildlife Park is home to animals from around the world. Visitors can see everything from capybaras and lemurs to emus, turtles, snakes, crocodiles and alligators.
But this is more than just a walk through the park. Jungle Doria’s gives visitors the opportunity to get hands-on with some of its animal residents through interactive encounters. Guests can feed, touch and learn about different animals while hearing more about their habitats and behaviors from the park’s animal care team.
The park also serves as a refuge for animals that were previously kept as pets or came from facilities that closed or could no longer care for them. The goal is to give those animals a safe, permanent home while helping visitors learn more about wildlife and conservation.
