Lee County jury finds Collier County man guilty in child sexual exploitation case

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—A man has been convicted on multiple charges involving a child victim following a three-day trial in Lee County.

Thomas Michael Greco was found guilty of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, Transmission of Material Harmful to a Minor, Traveling to Meet a Minor, Soliciting a Child or Person Believed by the Defendant to be a Child for Unlawful Sexual Conduct Using Computer Services or Devices and five counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, according to a press release from the State Attorney's Office. The jury returned a guilty verdict.

Assistant State Attorneys Emma Thomas and Adam Sullivan, of the Special Victims Unit, prosecuted the case.

The case began in March 2025 when the Lee County Sheriff's Office was called to a home after a resident stepped outside and saw a suspicious vehicle parked outside and a man loitering in the early morning hours.

Deputies arrived on scene and found the man, later identified as Greco, about a block away.

The home he had been outside of was where a child lived that he had been communicating with.

The investigation revealed weeks of text messages with the child victim as well as Greco soliciting child sexual abuse material, in the way of photos and videos, from the child victim. The investigation further revealed that Greco traveled from his home in Collier County to Lee County to get to the child victim.

At the time Greco was detained by deputies, he had a condom in his pocket and a male enhancement pill.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 19.
