2 dead after small aircraft crashes in Hillsborough County near US-301

Two people are dead after a small aircraft crashed in Hillsborough County on Thursday. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the initial report of a plane crash came in at 8:17 a.m. Deputies responded to the area of US-301 and Maislin Drive at around 8:24 a.m. Shortly after, deputies confirmed two people died in the crash. Deputies are still on scene, HCSO said, as are Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
