Clewiston man found guilty on numerous drug-related charges after 2025 arrest

A Clewiston man was found guilty on several drug-related charges following his arrest in 2025, according to the State Attorney's Office. The SAO says that Zachary Leekirk Williams Sr. was found guilty of the following charges: Tampering with or fabricating physical evidence Resisting/obstructing an officer without violence Two counts of Possession of a controlled substance with intent (within 1000 ft. of a school) Possession of cannabis - over 20 grams Unlawful use of a two-way communication device Possession of a place with knowledge of trafficking, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance Back in 2025, the Hendry County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Williams' duplex. Inside, the SWAT team found that the defendant had flushed the evidence. The tank lid was out of place and there were empty baggies, a spoon with cocaine residue and a single oxycodone pill. Also found in the residence were a digital scale with a powdery substance and a bottle of a substance used in the illegal mixing of narcotics to make a larger amount of the substance. A search of Williams' phone revealed numerous drug sales of various substances. Williams' sentencing is scheduled for October 28.
