Pickaxe attack suspect arrested after victim shoots him in self-defense in Lehigh Acres, LCSO says

A Lehigh Acres man was arrested after deputies said he attacked someone with a pickaxe and was shot during the struggle. On Monday night, deputies responded to a property along Lake Avenue, where they found Eddie Jordan II with a gunshot wound to his right shin. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies discovered the victim shot Jordan after he attacked him with a pickaxe. The sheriff's office said Jordan followed the victim with a pickaxe and shoved it into his back, which caused him to fall to the ground. Jordan then stood over the victim, threatening to strike him, before the victim shot Jordan in self-defense, according to LCSO. Jordan and the victim declined to press charges; however, deputies responded to the property again on Wednesday after another incident between the two. After Wednesday's incident, the victim decided to press charges against Jordan for the Monday incident. According to the sheriff's office, Jordan was booked into jail Thursday morning and is facing one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
