A Lee County man is wanted by deputies after skipping court following an arrest for shooting at a sheriff's office drone with a BB gun. According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, deputies are searching for Elvin Callejas Cerrato, 26, after he failed to show up for a court date on charges of shooting at an aircraft. Crime Stoppers said that the Lee County Sheriff's Office was flying a drone while on a call in Lehigh Acres in June. Deputies, through the drone's camera, noticed a group of men standing around a canal bank and watched as Cerrato raised a BB gun and fired off two shots. Deputies then responded to the scene and arrested Cerrato, who spent three days in jail before being released on the condition of showing up to his next court date. Cerrato is 5'5", weighs 160 pounds, and was last known to be living in Lehigh Acres. If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
