A Lee County judge pushed back the DUI trial of Cape Coral Councilmember Rachel Kaduk on Tuesday. Kaduk appeared in court Tuesday morning for a motions hearing. There, the judge decided that it was irrelevant that Kaduk had her driver's license reinstated. The state said that it wants to simply focus on the criminal allegations in the case. Kaduk was arrested in December of last year on DUI charges after a witness reported Kaduk driving recklessly in the wrong direction on Kismet Parkway East. Kaduk claimed she was returning home from Oak and Stone and had not been drinking, but officers reported she failed field sobriety tests. Kaduk's trial is now slated to start on October 7.
