A man was arrested on Saturday by Fort Myers police after being accused of pointing a gun at someone while urinating outside an apartment. According to the Fort Myers Police Department, officers responded to an apartment in the 4200 block of DeSoto Avenue at around 4:21 p.m. following a report of a gun threat. Officers met with the victim, who told them he had confronted a man after seeing him urinating outside the apartment. The victim said the man, later identified as Hector Covarrubias, 28, then pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim, stating that he could do what he wanted, FMPD said. Covarrubias was detained at the scene, and officers recovered a gun while investigating. Covarrubias was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
