SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking a shift in the weather pattern that is leading to drier mornings and stormier afternoons through the rest of the week.
Wednesday is off to a drier start with temperatures in the 70s. An east wind pattern will keep us drier in the morning before bringing scattered storms (70% coverage) towards our side of the state in the afternoon and evening. Storms will be tracking to the west and can produce heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds. Highs top out in the lower 90s.
Thursday will start dry with temperatures in the 70s. Similar to Wednesday, we'll see storms developing in the afternoon with scattered storms (70% coverage) expected through the evening. Storms will have the potential to produce some heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds so watch out for those threats. Highs top out in the lower 90s.
Plan for a dry start for the Friday morning commute with temperatures in the 70s. While the morning will start dry, the afternoon is looking stormy with scattered storms (70% coverage) expected to develop and build towards the coast through the early evening. Highs top out in the lower 90s.
