A man was arrested in Cape Coral on September 3 after being accused of hitting a mailbox while driving under the influence. According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Miramar Street and Vincennes Street at around 7:19 p.m. Once at the scene, officers observed the suspected vehicle involved in the crash pulled off the roadway, with the driver standing next to the door, the arrest report said. Officers spoke with witnesses, who said they saw the vehicle travel west on Miramar Street, veer across the eastbound lane of Miramar Street, hit a mailbox, overcorrect, hit the curb, and then come to a stop at the intersection with Vincennes Street.
