Watch: Cape Coral police officer and firefighters battle Labor Day kitchen blaze

Body camera video captured the swift response of Cape Coral firefighters and a police officer to a fire at a home in the 1700 block of NE 17th Terrace on Labor Day. The Cape Coral Fire Department said firefighters responded to the home at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Monday and saw smoke coming from the home. The Cape Coral police officer's bodycam video shows them rushing into the home after being the first responder at the scene as the inferno took over the kitchen. According to CCFD, crews extinguished the fire in the kitchen, minimizing the damage to the rest of the home, and all occupants, including their dogs, were able to safely evacuate the home.
