DeSoto County sex offender wanted in Lee County after skipping court date for Target theft arrest

A convicted sex offender from DeSoto County is wanted in Lee County after skipping his court hearing for an arrest for stealing from a Target, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers says that Corey Garcia was initially arrested after he loaded a cart full of vacuum cleaners, comforters and other items at a local Target. Garcia reportedly walked out of the store with $1,000 worth of items. A license plate reader tracked down Garcia's car, and he was arrested on theft-related charges. Garcia was released pending his next court date, which he bailed on. Garcia is a registered sex offender in DeSoto County, convicted of lewd and lascivious battery of a child. Garcia is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and has a symbol of Thor tattooed on his right arm, the name "Lucy" on his wedding ring finger and "Bella" and "Alyssa" on his left arm.
