Betsy Clayton, communications director for Lee County, said the county took custody of 136 birds from the two properties on Aug. 21 and Aug. 23.
The birds were seized during separate Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigations in Buckingham and Lehigh Acres that resulted in two arrests on animal cruelty charges.
