Teens riding dirt bikes on the greens at Hunter's Run Golf Club in Cape Coral have caused ongoing damage, with workers and members expressing frustration over the issue. Workers at the golf club say the teens have been riding recklessly on the property, disrupting the course and its members. Some of the incidents were caught on video, including one rider popping a wheelie. "Yeah, I came in one day at, like, 6 a.m., and I see them just driving down the cart path, and they just started tearing up all the greens and everything around the course," said Zane Hayes, who works at the club. Hayes said the teens have been showing up regularly. "Yeah, it's at least every week," he said. He shared a video he took last week, describing the scene. "I didn't say anything at first. You know, I thought they would just leave right away, but then they started terrorizing everyone and doing donuts," Hayes said. Joseph Zummo, a ranger at the club, said he tried to confront the teens but was met with disrespect. "I tried to talk to them; they gave me the finger and stuff, no respect at all," Zummo said. Zummo added that the teens were even present during a league tournament, riding on the greens. Cape Coral police confirmed that there have been five calls to the property for "juvenile problems" between Aug. 30 and Sept. 8. Club members are frustrated by the ongoing issue. "It really upsets me. I'm a member, I'm an officer in the golf course league, and I live on the course, so not good," said Al Camp, a member of Hunter's Run Golf Club. The club's owner told Gulf Coast News on Monday that the damaged greens have already been replaced, but the situation remains a burden for everyone who works and plays at the course.
