A modern-day Bonnie and Clyde duo found themselves in hot water again with law enforcement after Naples police said they went on a crime spree of burglaries and fraudulent purchases. On Sept. 5, the Naples Police Department said officers responded to a report of a stolen BMW rental car from a driveway on 1st Avenue South. According to NPD, the victim reported that they had several credit cards and personal items valued at over $5,000 in the vehicle, and their credit cards were used fraudulently to make over $1,300 in purchases. A second victim at another residence on 1st Avenue South called NPD to report a residential burglary that same day, and he reported that someone entered his detached garage and took items that were valued at $140. On Sept. 6, a third victim on Oleander Drive reported a residential burglary in progress. The caller told police that a female suspect ran from their home after they arrived. According to NPD, the woman, later identified as 42-year-old Christen Cutler, was found hiding nearby in the bushes by police and arrested. Later that same day, after Cutler's arrest, officers said they stopped Nicholas Murawski, 41, as he was driving the stolen BMW through Old Naples. According to the police department, Murawski had a revoked Florida driver's license, possessed drug paraphernalia, stolen property from the previous burglaries, and mail stolen from several residential mailboxes. Police said a receipt and credit card were found in the stolen car from one of the earlier burglary victims. This discovery implicated Cutler in using the credit card at the Four Seasons on Gulf Shore Boulevard and making approximately $1,300 in fraudulent purchases, including women's clothing and accessories, according to NPD. Cutler and Murawski were previously arrested by NPD officers for a golf cart theft in May 2025, and they were arrested again for trespassing in October 2025. NPD said the couple has had multiple interactions with law enforcement in the past two years. The duo was taken into custody at separate locations and booked at the Collier County Sheriff's Office jail. They are facing numerous charges, including burglary, grand theft auto, grand theft, and fraudulent use of credit cards. Cutler is also facing a charge of obstruction without violence, and Murawki is facing a charge of driving with a revoked license.
