On Wednesday, the Naples City Council voted 6-1 in favor of creating a new luxury car event to be held on Fifth Avenue South. This comes after the relocation of the original Cars on 5th event to Bayshore Drive following months of back-and-forth debate over safety and logistical concerns. According to a permit application submitted to the city, this event, which has no name yet, would take place on February 27th. It would feature displays of specialty vehicles, and proceeds would benefit local charities. The event would also feature a stage for live music, vendors of all types including food, arts and crafts, and alcohol, and amplified music. 20,000 people are expected to attend the event. Cars on 5th, the original luxury car event in Naples, relocated to Bayshore Drive after a long battle with the city regarding logistical and safety concerns. The city claimed when it denied the application for Cars on 5th's 2027 event that it had several concerns regarding the size of the event, including crowds, parking and traffic, and public safety. After months of back-and-forth, the original Cars on 5th decided to relocate outside the Naples city limits to Bayshore Drive for its 2027 event.
