Fort Myers police K-9 finds narcotics during traffic stop leading to man's arrest

A man was arrested on Sept. 11 after a traffic stop led to a K-9 narcotics discovery in Fort Myers. According to the Fort Myers Police Department, Kevin K. Herring was stopped for a reported traffic violation. During the stop, a K-9 conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to potential narcotics inside. Officers said they located the following in the vehicle: 14.1 grams of cocaine 7 grams of fentanyl 9.8 grams of marijuana $8,143 in cash Herring was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail. He is facing charges of trafficking in fentanyl/fentanyl analogues and possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver.
