Jolley Bridge northbound closed after car fully engulfs in flames

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (WINK) — Northbound lanes on Jolley Bridge are shut down due to a vehicle fire.

The Marco Island Police Department is on scene managing the incident. The vehicle is fully engulfed in flames at the top of the bridge.

The driver escaped the vehicle and is safe.

Police units are diverting northbound traffic back onto South Collier Boulevard. Drivers are urged to avoid Jolley Bridge northbound and use alternate routes.

Motorists should follow directions from law enforcement and emergency personnel on scene.
