The Gulf Coast's largest live music event is back for its 12th year. Island Hopper Songwriter Fest kicked off Friday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. on Captiva Island. Performances continue on Captiva through Sunday, Sept. 20. Festivities then move to Cape Coral Monday, Sept. 21 and Tuesday, Sept. 22. Downtown Fort Myers will host several events Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Thursday, Sept. 24. This includes "Stars on the River Featuring LOCASH and Alexandra Kay." The event is the first time Island Hopper will be hosting a show under the stars at the Caloosa Sound Amphitheater. The event ends on Fort Myers Beach with performances from Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27. Most shows and concerts are free. Only 10 of the more than 60 shows require a ticket.
